Romantic Honeymoon Ideas That Will Leave You Breathless

By Puneet Aggarwal

Hold equal, A honeymoon is sometimes regarded to have a secondary importance compared to wedding preparations, but as far as romantic memories go, honeymoons if not greater significance. It’s definitely a celebration of your love as well as a romantic vacation that you surely won’t forget for as long as you live. Hence, you have to consider your honeymoon ideas carefully.

It is important that you and your partner create a clear outline of your goals. Remember that you will be away for a certain period of time. What are the stuff that you can or can’t live without? What are the places that you have been longing to see? Do you want a vacation where you can simply de-stress and enjoy the warm company of your partner, or are you clamoring for exciting adventures where both of you can be active? How about your priorities? How’s your budget?

It’s very essential that you discuss the following honeymoon ideas carefully with your partner, and seek good advice from your family and friends:

1. Do a bit of research. There are lots of travel sites and honeymoon experts (strongly advised) that can help you iron things out and weigh your options. They can give you sound, professional advise when it comes to travel packages, great deals, awesome places to go, and activities that will keep you happy and occupied.

2. One of the most popular choices among honeymooners is trips to secluded beach islands. Going to a private island translates to spending peaceful, romantic and more quality time together. It also means that you can get the relaxation that you rightly deserve; leave the busy timetable that you are in for the last couple of months and losing yourselves in breathtaking sceneries.

3. Another brilliant option is to go on a cruise ship. A cruise presents the same tranquil and relaxing experience while giving you the opportunity to go on multiple nice locations. However, if what you have in mind is an action-packed or adventurous honeymoon, consider going on a safari, or go backpacking, or any adventure travel trip. A mountain resort can also offer the same exhilarating adventure.

4. As far as honeymoon locations go, you might want to make a mental note of the following places – India, Australia, Bali, Bahamas, Canada, Egypt, Costa Rica, Hawaii, France, the Caribbean, Seychelles, Maldives and Spain.

Whatever honeymoon idea you agree upon, make sure to book at least 6 months prior to the trip. This will ensure that you get to pick the room of your choice and avail of great honeymoon packages and deals.

Top 10 Romantic Honeymoon Ideas

By  Meghan Burton

On your honeymoon, you want the ultimate in romance. You’ve just been married, which we all hope to do only once, and so you really want to make it count. Even if you go on a second honeymoon, which many couples do, it still won’t have the magic of that first week or two you and your new husband or wife spend together on your own. Naturally, you’ll want to get it right. To help you out, I’ve created a list of the ten most romantic ideas I can think of for your honeymoon.

10. Snorkelling

If you’ve ever wanted to explore an ocean paradise, your honeymoon is the absolute perfect time. If you’re headed to an exclusive destination by the shore or on an island, snorkelling is a necessity. Discovering the vivid sights beneath the water together is certainly romantic.

9. Wine Tasting

Heading somewhere with vineyards? Even Thailand has some these days, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if your destination did too. The scenery will be gorgeous and you’ll be just slightly tipsy, certain to add a romantic edge to your evening. You’ll also get a fabulous taste of local culture.

8. Explore an ancient temple together

Plenty of honeymoon destinations have historic landmarks dotting the countryside. Why not take the opportunity to explore an ancient temple together? Investigating the remnants of an ancient civilization is surprisingly romantic and offers great photo opportunities for the honeymoon album.

7. Canal Ride

Gliding down a canal, exploring parts of a city other tourists never manage, is quite a romantic experience, particularly if you can acquire a private boat with just the two of you and the person sailing the boat. Any city which has a canal system would do; Bangkok is just one example.

6. Twilight Walks Along the Beach

Sure, it’s a stereotype, but stereotypes exist for a reason. Walking down a warm, sandy beach as the sun sets is still one of the most romantic things a newly married couple can do together. If your honeymoon destination is the beach, consider this. You might even end up walking along the shore more than once.

5. Take dance lessons together

Dancing is always romantic, so why not take the plunge together and spend one evening learning a whole new style? You’ll be able to whip it out and impress all of your friends at future parties in addition to having a very romantic evening on your honeymoon.

4. Picnic on a Private Inlet

If you’re lucky enough to be honeymooning on a small island, it’s very possible that there are private inlets for you to have a quiet picnic together. This is offered on some of the Tahitian islands as well as other places. Delicious food alone together in an island paradise sounds wonderfully romantic to me.

3. Cocktails on the Beach

Sitting virtually alone on the beach with your favourite drinks in hand, particularly at sunset – this is almost the ultimate in romance. Just one reason why it’s best to go to a resort dedicated to avoiding overcrowding.

2. Swimming in Your Private Pool

The most exclusive honeymoon destinations, particularly luxury resorts, often have a small private pool for their highest paying guests. If you’re willing to spend quite a bit on your honeymoon, this is an incredibly romantic way to spend your days and evenings. If you don’t have a pool, spend that time in your hot tub or private bath instead.

1. Private Candlelit Dinner

My number one in romance is a private candlelit dinner with your new spouse. Catered exactly to your specifications by your own private chef, you can then be left totally alone to enjoy your romantic meal in peace. Feeding each other all of your favourite foods in flickering soft light? This is just unbelievably romantic, and absolutely perfect for your honeymoon. Best of all, the basic idea is not focused on a location. Just the candles, delicious food, and one another provide all the romance you need.

Romantic Honeymoon Ideas

By  David G. Wills

When planning your honeymoon you need not look to overseas for a beautiful and romantic location. Australia offers many unique holiday options that are a perfect honeymoon destination. With fine dining, a great variety of accommodation, amazing natural attractions and beautiful cities, forget about overseas travel and book your romantic honeymoon right here in Australia.

Port Douglas

Port Douglas, just north of Cairns in tropical north Queensland, is a beautiful part of the country. Port Douglas is a relaxing small town with plenty of choices of accommodation, great restaurants, excellent shopping and a beautiful beach. Spend your time lounging by the hotel pool, go for a walk or bike ride, take an evening cruise on a catamaran or visit the Great Barrier Reef. Port Douglas is also a drive away from the Daintree Rainforest where you can go for a cruise on the Daintree River, go crocodile spotting and explore the rainforest.

An Island Resort

Instead of travelling to Fiji or Vanuatu visit an Australian island, such as the Whitsunday Islands, a string of islands off the Queensland coast. An island resort is a perfect destination for a romantic honeymoon, and you will discover that some islands cater for families, while others are exclusively for couples, such as Orpheus Island, which does not allow children. Relax on the beach, enjoy water activities, such as scuba diving and sailing, or lounge by the pool or bar. Some islands will have day spas and shops, and all have restaurants within the resorts.

Barossa Valley

This beautiful wine region just a short drive from Adelaide is a great place for a romantic honeymoon. Stay in either a hotel, or for more private location book into one of the many bed and breakfasts. With many award winning wineries to visit, also enjoy the gourmet food trail, go shopping for antiques, stop by various local artists and go for a walk through the National Park.

Red Centre

You may be out in the middle of nowhere but that does not mean a shortage of great accommodation or a lack of romance. Visit the natural wonders of the Red Centre, such as Uluru, The Olgas and Kings Canyon. Take a ride on a camel or go for a joy flight and be amazed at the landscape unfolding below. Experience the Sounds of Silence dinner, a unique meal served in the desert under the stars. Enjoy authentic Australian food, such as kangaroo, crocodile and emu, bush salads and classic desserts, all served with Australian wines.

Outback Station

To really get away from it all enjoy your honeymoon on one of the Outback’s real working stations. To compliment sheep and cattle enterprises some stations are showing city people what a working station is like, and you can stay in a variety of different accommodation, from luxury resorts to sleeping under the stars in a swag. Join in the daily activities on the station and learn how to muster cattle, shear sheep or rope a steer. Spend time on your own or immerse yourself in working station life and enjoy some truly unique experiences.
